Been away a while...
I've been super busy with family/easter stuff and haven't had much chance to do any professional photography. I did get some fun pictures on our Easter road trip! Here are my favorites...

Random Picture I Love #2
This was another re-edit from Mary's shoot. I keep looking at it on her portfolio and it keeps growing on me. Thanks to my high school photography class only letting us shoot in black and white, I kind of have a bit of a prejudice towards it but this picture looks so much better in black and white! I love how her eyes are so dramatic!

re-edit
Once in a while I like to go through old pictures and see if there are any good ones I didn't notice before. It's also fun to see how I've progressed my knowledge of photoshop. My friend Mary is hoping to get into the modeling business. I was helping her set up a portfolio tonight and decided to go through her raw images again and found this beauty! I just had to share!

Amanda's Bridals
I had a blast at this morning's shoot. Amanda is hilarious and gorgeous! We were joined by her dear friend, and my room-mate, April! I have not laughed so much in a while. Thanks for the opportunity Amanda! Congrats!
Oh and I never knew what great shots you can get in parking garages! These were taken on the roof of a parking garage downtown and at the city library.

Wear it Again!
If your wedding day was anything like mine, looking back it feels like is must have taken place in a tornado. I don't know what was going through my head but I was worrying about getting everyone else ready the morning of and ended up throwing myself together in the last half hour before the ceremony. It was unusually hot for October and I did not feel like the pretty bride I felt like during my bridals a week before. The whole day ended up running late and we had almost no time (or patience in the heat) for good pictures. Six months later I still can't stop thinking about all the "would have/ should haves."
Well, today, while looking for ideas for the Bridal shoot I'm doing on Saturday (i'm so excited!), I came across a fantastic idea, a "wear it again" dress photo shoot! In furthering my research, I've found this idea has a few different names and a lot of times might even be categorized as a "trash the dress" shoot. Although I don't think I could ever truly trash my dress, I'm about 82% sure I'll be doing a Wear it Again Shoot in the next year and here's why I think it's a great idea!
1. ummm... you get to WEAR IT AGAIN! How many brides have spent hundreds of dollars on the dress of their dreams only to have it sealed away, never to be seen again? A Wear it Again shoot is kind of like playing dress up!
2. You get MORE wedding photos! A lot of my friends have gotten married recently. In sharing our thoughts and feeling about our weddings, I've found I'm not the only one who wishes she had more pictures from the day. Although it would be a ton of work to recreate the entire day, you can easily slip back into your dress and get some great photos that you may not have been able to relax enough for on your wedding day.
3. You'll have more time than you did on your wedding day. You'll be able to get every pose or shot you can think of!
4. Great for anniversary's. Weather you want pictures of yourself to give to your husband or pictures with your husband a Wear it Again anniversary shoot is the perfect way to celebrate your marriage and remember your wedding day.
I'll leave you with my favorite picture from our wedding day. It was taken by the lovely Miss Erin Gabriel and edited by yours truly.

Rainy Day
This rainy weather is killing me! I'm trying to get by spending my time practicing editing pictures but I just want to be out shooting! Watson and I took a break from staying warm and dry inside and played fetch in the muddy backyard. This is two separate shots set together but it almost looks like one. I wanted to capture the way he leaves the ball at my feet and then just waits for it to move.
